Name: Ms. Angevin Leona Mallorie. Never call her Angie to her face, she hates that nickname.
Age: 26
Birthday: October 28
Bloodline: French/Italian Pureblood completely. There hasn't been a drop of muggle blood in her family line ever recorded.
Why are they important to this plot line?: She is, basically, PR for the Ministry at Hogwarts during troubled times. However, he job description also includes being an Auror for the school. Mainly, though, he work there focuses on keeping the Ministry image up in the eyes of the public at all costs. Her own reasons for being so excited to go are a little shady, however.
Physical Description: Angevin is almost the perfect embodiment of French beauty, whether it was all hers by birth is hard to say, but regardless it is now. It is very obvious she takes great pride in her appearance and has spent countless hours, and dollars, perfecting it to the best of her ability. She has shoulder-blade length, straight blonde hair that is very fuss-free and somewhat feathered at the front. Contrasts to her beige skin are her green eyes with tinges of amber and brown in them. Her body shape is curvy, but not too much, and she is a slender five foot eight. The clothing she wears also embodies a very professional, but flattering air. In fact, her appearance is almost always so pulled together, it’s a bit eerie.
Personality: Angevin is not someone that one gets on the wrong side of. Although she is an industrious worker and very dedicated to her job, she is also not someone to let grudges drop, even if they were not originally against her. To her the phrase “blood runs thicker than water” isn’t a mere cliché, but what she lives by. Initially, she may come off as sarcastic and having expectations that are too high, but she has sort of an enigmatic presence about her that seems to draw people into her. Also, her determined mindset can make her a good leader, a position she eagerly accepts as she is not very flexible to others ways of solving problems. Another side of her is very witty, sometimes almost to the point of being coy. She has practiced her powers of persuasion and knows how to key in on what she wants. Although she isn’t one for forming very deep relationships, she seems to try to get along with most people, despite her personality.
Likes: Enjoys sushi, debating, and those that mind their own business. Angevin also gets a rush of adrenaline every time she solves a problem that others cannot, or knowing that her work is meaningful to a cause. Also, she, unlike most people she knows, enjoys her job and the opportunities it presents her for travel, among other things.
Dislikes: Those who meddle or in other ways show themselves to be the sort that likes to get into other peoples business. She also can’t stand overly extroverted people or those who cause a scene everywhere they go. Really, she likes being left to her own devices and dislikes anyone who believes they have the authority to control over a person, with the exception of herself.
History: Ms. Mallorie was born into a very prominent French wizarding family. Her mother had been previously married to another man before her father, but he had died in one of the tragic Voldemort-era attacks. Her father had never previously been married, but had been in a relationship that left her with a half sister, whom she never met.
Angevin was privately tutored before attending Beauxbatons by only the best witches and wizards, so she had a good grounding in magic before she began studies with other students. In the circle of friends her family had, competition was everything and naturally she had the same belief. Due to her hard work in school, she was one of the heads of her class and was soon about to be accepted as an auror for the Ministry when rumors began to spread about the loyalty of her father, and then her family. Times were difficult anyway, with the wizarding ‘war’ and such, and having the loyalty of her family questioned was putting her in jeopardy of loosing her job offer. This was not an option for Angevin, whose loyalty at the time was also questioned, and she disappeared for a short time, in all probability to let the ‘storm’ pass.
The rumors about her family ceased shortly after she left and her offer at the Ministry was renewed. This was then followed by the untimely disappearance of her father during the final uprising, who she hasn’t heard from since. Her work as an auror thereafter consisted of dealing mainly with rounding up death eaters, and from that experience she began to doubt the side she was working for and what she had been raised to believe. Eventually, it came to the point where she almost left the ministry, but after a two-week vacation appeared to return to work with a new vigor and enthusiasm that left very few doubting her allegiance anymore.
Since then, her work has focused on various things, many of which she is not aloud to speak of outside of her job. Currently, she is preparing to work for the ministry at Hogwarts as, basically, PR, and was honored to accept the job.
Family and Pets: Her mother, Josephine Mallorie an older brother (who is currently serving time in Azkaban for death eater acts) and a half-sister who she has no connection with. No pets, she doesn’t have the time or patience to deal with ones and really is not an animal person.
Other information (optional): She is well taught in numerous languages and is fluent in English, French (her native tongue), Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Mermish. Many of her activities outside of her job are a little hazy and although many people in the ministry 'know' her, very few could tell you what sort of person she is.
Roleplaying Sample:
For Angevin, nothing was out of place. Not a single hair, a single paper in her briefcase, or a single button on her working robe. Today was an especially important day, and she was not willing to be unprepared. For that day was the day she would finally be getting a new assignment from the Ministry, an important one at that. As she finished preparing and traveled to the ministry, she focused her thoughts and prepared herself mentally for the meeting with her supervisor.
By the time she stepped into the elevator of the Ministry, her appearance was more nonchalant and collected than most of the harried witches and wizards she knew were scurrying beneath her feet at that very moment. Closing the door to the shabby telephone booth, she punched in the number code and waited patiently for a response.
“Good morning. Please state your name and business.” A woman’s voice filled the small booth.
“Ms. Angevin Mallorie, auror and International C of W diplomat.” Angevin replied back automatically.
“Thank you. Please take the silver badge and proceed to the second floor immediately, a message is waiting.”
Pulling the silver badge out of the slot, she pinned it n as the booth began to descend towards the Atrium of the ministry very much like an old, glass muggle elevator. As it came to a stop, Angevin stepped out and into the hustle and bustle of the crowd and made her way over to the elevators behind the security counter and Golden Gates. Waiting behind a crowd of witches and wizards waiting to board the next elevator, she heard her name over to her left.
“Mallorie, on time as usual. Are you ever late?” Asked one of the older wizards, maybe mid fifties or so, waiting for the elevator. He smiled lightheartedly and then went on, “I heard you’re getting a new assignment today. We’ll miss you over on our side.”
As he finished, he pulled a small slip of paper out of his pocket and held it between two fingers at his side. It was a small, almost unnoticeable movement, one Angevin had been trained to catch.
“Oh, thanks, I’m sure all of you will miss me every day. I was so popular over there, after all.” She replied acerbically with a dry smile as wizards and witches began to push past to board the elevator, “Well, time is money. Will I see you before I leave on assignment?”
He shrugged, “Depends on when you’re leaving. I’m headed out for an hour or so, but I’ll be in my office after that. Stop by if you get a chance.” The crowds were getting larger and she knew the elevator would be full soon, so she needed to get on.
“I’ll try.” She finished as she waved her hand a little goodbye before scrunching herself onto the elevator with the rest of the passengers and the doors slid closed.
The man watched the elevator light blink slowly up the number line above the elevator, and then headed out the Golden Gates and to the exit on the opposite side of the Atrium. As he passed under the shining arches, he shoved his empty hands into the pockets of his robe.
