Name: Lydia Adair
Age: 17
Birthday: January 2nd
Bloodline: Pure
Physical Description: Lydia is a person who loves change, but it's only really change on the subtle level. She's the type that will highlight her hair, just beacause it's something that she hasn't done before. Though Lydia's hair looks beautiful as the brown color that it is now, she likes to play around with it: scrunching it, leaving it straight, making her bangs do to one side or the other, or it's just getting long enough to pull some of it back. The possiblities are endless with her creative ability.
Lydia stands at about 5'4", but she's mighty outspoken and a very strong person, emotionally. You might say that good things come in small packages, but so do powerful things. Though, as much of a hard ass as she likes to be, her wardrobe consists of anything she feels comfortable in that day. Back in public school, before she started her life at Hogwarts, Lydia would wear a dress one day and fix her hair all nice with a light pink lip gloss and a little bit of dark brown mascara (remember, she would've been around 10, so make up wasn't of much importance). But the next day, you'd see her in sweat pants and a t-shirt with the smudged remains of yesterday's mascara under her eyes, and her hair straight or in as much of a ponytail as she can get it. You just never know with her.
Personality: As stated earlier, Lydia loves change on a subtle. Perhaps it's her love of intelligent people that causes her to be more attracted to the subtle than to the downright obvious. If a subtle change is noticed, than the person who noticed must be smart enough to: a.) pay attention to detail, and b.) notice the change itself. Lydia is attracted to intelligent people, as if it wasn't already obvious. You could consider her a nerd, but really, if you think about it, most people can't stereotype her.
Do not argue with Lydia unless you have a good solid defense. She is the kind that sticks to her beliefs and doesn't budge. She's experienced in arguing, and does so very well; so well, in fact that if she doesn't beat you in fact versus opinion, she'll beat you in withstanding the most persecution. She's a rock. A beast. Yet, she can be very gentle.
In love, Lydia is very true, and when she falls for someone, she falls hard, but it takes her awhile. She's very wary of other people, not just guys but people in general. She's never had much luck with people and trust, so she tends to stay away from those that she's afraid of caring too much for. Call her crazy, but you've got to love her all the same.
Likes: Intelligent people, anything involving creativity, music (vocal and instrumental), writing, thinking, and accomplishing goals.
Dislikes: People who aren't fully devoted to their beliefs, stupid people, stereotypes, and wrists.
History: Lydia was born into a musical family, so her talents and interests began early on. Her mother was the worship leader in a fairly large church in the United States, and her dad played bass guitar. Her brother was a trumpet player in the high school marching band, so if Lydia didn't get involved in music, she was pretty much left out of the family legacy.
She began singing early on, getting involved in church choir and community childrens' choir. She began taking trumpet lessons from her brother, and piano lessons from a private teacher. As she grew more and more in the piano, she realized how much the world of percussive arts intrigued her, and so she became a percussionist.
Lydia would've continued to persue percussion at the middle and high school level had she stayed in the US long enough to be involved. When she got her letter, she was extatic to get the heck out of there. She longed for a new place; a new learning envoirnment. Not to mention that she'd just learned that she was a witch and was now anxious to learn how to control these powers.
Now in her seventh year, Hogwarts is all the Lydia expected it to be and more. She can still persue her passion of music on her own time, and her classes challenge her enough to use her own brain power, as well as work with others in her house in order to do well, causing her to get a feel for everyone's ability level. This is a good thing on so many levels.
