Name: Ariel Winifred Manthai
Age: 17
Birthday: April 15th
Bloodline: Pure
Physical Description:
Ariel is a very slender girl, much thinner than an average girl her age should be. She does not suffer from any eating disorders of any kind, though she's sometimes rumored to, just because of how thin she is. She can't really help it, she just has a fast metabolism. Ariel's hair is a dark brown, and she likes to do different things with it. Sometimes it is extremely long, and others she'll get bored with it and cut it all off. All other times, she's trying to grow it back, so it's somewhere in the middle. Ariel's eyes are brown, which may strike you as plain, but they are a brown that could make you drown in them, with just one look. She has a very magnetic gaze... she's been involved in more staring contests than she prefers to count, most of the time.
Personality:
Ariel is you're typical demonic angel-type. She's very sweet on the outside, and upon first impression. She aims to impress those that she is meeting for the first time, always seeming to somehow do the right thing without really trying. Though, once she's in tight with you, she'll begin to show you how she really is: a little standoff-ish, kinda bitchy, and really just not a people person 75% of the time. Ariel is one of the girls that is completely different than how she looks. She seems so innocent and sweet, when really, she isn't. But if you can somehow catch her in one of her beloved hobbies, than she really is a very pleasant person, but only for those moments.
Likes:
Photography, Writing, Messing with people's minds, and Testing social theories
Dislikes:
Constantly bubbly people, Homework, Flying on a broom, and Being mistaken for someone else
History:
Ariel was born on her parents anniversary, so she was always called their "Little Anniversary Blessing," when, in all actuality, she grew to be kind of a terror. She lived in a small house in rural Indiana, a little less than a mile away from the public high school. Being so close, as she grew, she got to see the kinds of people that went to and came out of that place, and she never wanted to go there... ever.
Thankfully, Ariel received her Hogwarts letter, like every other witch and wizard, at the age of 11. She didn't even really have to attend much of public school because before she knew it, she was off to Hogwarts.
Though, since first year, Ariel has much disliked flying on a broom. She didn't get on a bewitched broom, or almost fall to her death, or anything of that severity. She just didn't understand it. You see, for Ariel, most things have to be all wrapped up in this nice little package of "This is why this certain thing is the way that it is...." And if it's not in that package, Ariel herself must be able to put it in one in order to be comfortable. With flying, she couldn't do that... at all. She couldn't see how it was possible to sit on a broom, one that could probably serve just as well by being used to sweep the Entrance Hall or a classroom, and say "Up!" and it goes up. It doesn't make sense. And since it doesn't make sense, Ariel doesn't like it. Simple.
Family and Pets:
Ariel's mother, Lisa works as an outpatient nurse at a local hospital near the house that her parents still live in back in Indiana. Lisa relates very well to Ariel, on most subjects, and seems to understand why Ariel is the way that she is. And sense it makes sense to Ariel, and to her mother, they get along very well.
Ariel's father, Alan, works as mossaic and tile worker for a company in Indiana called Santarosa, which is ironic considering his highly criticized bad "habit" of being extremely racist. It angers Ariel and Lisa, but not much can really be done about it. Alan is who he is. Such is life.
Ariel does have a charcoal grey owl that her dad bought her for her 16th birthday. Just to get on his nerves, she changed her name from Page (as in page of a book, because Ariel loves to write) to Paquita, which is the closest Spanish equivilant to the name Page.
