Yep, Cat/Hess's at it again, what is this, character #4? I believe it is...
Name: Inge Margot Brighting
Year: Seventh
Age: Sixteen, will be seventeen in November
Birthday: November 20th
Bloodline: Half-blood
History:
Inge’s dad, Daniel, was an American mudblood, and as such, was never particularly comfortable with conventional wizarding life. After working at a magical odds-and-ends shop for a couple years, he decided to try going back to a normal muggle life and joined the army. He was eventually posted in an army base near Munich and met Inge’s mother, Cathy (who was, oddly enough, a witch), on leave in Zurich. They fell in love and got married about a year later, just after Daniel managed to get an honorable discharge. Daniel’s German wasn’t too good and Cathy didn’t want to move to an entirely different continent, so the two immigrated to England, settling in Brighton and opening a fish and chips shop which also sold somewhat hard to find magical paraphernalia in the back room.
Inge (who was named after her grandmothers, Inge and Margo) had a remarkably boring childhood. This never bothered Inge though, who enjoyed going to muggle primary school, hanging around the pier and helping at the shop, until she got her acceptance letter to Hogwarts. This led to a month-long panic attack until, when at Hogwarts, she found herself too busy to worry. Her best subjects have always been Herbology, Potions (a bit like cooking really) and Arithmancy, although her only easy grade ever was Herbology. After school, she plans to open a greenhouse once she’s saved up the money.
Physical Description: Inge is a bit plump, which she claims as one of the inevitable effects of growing up over a fish and chips shop– if you’re even slightly peckish, the smell of the chips hits you and you’re suddenly ravenous. If you can ignore the fact that she hasn’t got a model’s figure or twenty-twenty vision (she has glasses), she’s rather pretty, with big grey eyes, shoulder-length auburn hair. About five-five, she tends to be the “mediumest” girl in any group, a situation with which she’s comfortable, given the amazing numbers of outrageously pretty girls at Hogwarts (she’s convinced that a good number use some sort of charm she’s unaware of to achieve these effects.
Personality: Inge is a people person at heart, it’s a art she learned serving customers at “Fish and Chips” (literally, the name of her parents’ shop, she’s worried about their imaginations) and later perfected talking to pretty much everybody she met at the Brighton pier. She also enjoys being different from everybody else, blasting chamber music on Sunday mornings and protesting for “dolphin-free beef”. Despite her general friendliness however, she regards privacy in personal matters as an absolute necessity and will, if necessary, set rabid Dobermans to guard her room (She actually did sort-of set her Doberman Pinscher on a cousin once to protect her empty diary) She also dreams of traveling the world, and dreads the day when she will have to decide between that and her greenhouse.
Likes: quidditch (watching, not playing – she claims to have the wrong aerodynamics, although in reality, she’s just scared of heights); classical music; Brighton; visiting relatives in Zurich; German; her Doberman Pinscher, Beamer (full name: ‘Beam me up’ Scotty)
Dislikes: heights; those high, creepy sounding laughs some people have; English winters (no snow!? Sacrilege!); rap; loud noises; the color green; Trekkies – don’t ask
Family and Pets: Her dad, Daniel, mom Cathy and Beamer the Doberman Pinscher
Roleplaying Sample: 'Tis Cat/Hess. If you’d like a sample, I can add one, but I’d rather not at the moment if I don’t have to, as it would likely be short and crappy anyway.
