[Background]
Alastor Moody, called "Mad Eye" by most people, is a grizzled, eccentric, skilled retired Auror. He is very badly scarred from a long career of battling the Dark Arts, and also very paranoid. Moody's nickname comes from his magical eye, a replacement for one of his own eyes lost in the line of duty.
Moody was a very capable auror in the past, but now in his old age he's becoming really paranoid: he doesn't trust anyone. He is cautious - some might say paranoid - he refuses to eat or drink anything which he himself has not prepared 'as it is all too easy to poison an unattended cup.', and he sees dark wizards everywhere. He drinks only from his hip flask.
He is also particularly worried about wand safety, something that has to do with his own missing leg; but he will not go into the details of it. Moody is perhaps the most famous Auror in modern times, single-handedly responsible for capturing numerous wizard criminals.
Education: Gryffindor Alumin.
Home: A cabin. I cannot disclose the location, incase a Dark Wizard gets hold of this information.
Finance: He has enough money to live comfortably.
[Appearance]
Moody has a long mane of grizzled, dark gray hair, a that looks as though it had been carved out of weathered wood by someone who had only the vaguest idea of what human faces are supposed to look like, and was none too skilled with a chisel. Every inch of skin is badly scarred. His mouth looked like a diagonal gash, and a large chunk of his nose is missing from fighting practitioners of the Dark Arts. One of his eyes is small, dark, and beady. The other is magical. It is large, round as a coin, and a vivid, electric blue.
He is particularly conspicuous because of his peculiar magical eye which can rotate three hundred and sixty degrees and see through walls, doors, invisibility cloaks, and the back of his own head (hence the nickname "Mad-Eye"). The properties of his magical eye may also make him the only person to know the true form of a boggart. He is also capable of hearing across great distances that his magical eye is able to target.

Past Relationships: None
[Extra]

"Alastor" = English from Greek, an avenger or nemesis; the implication is that of terrifying but just retribution.
"moody" = describes someone whose outlook or personality changes quite often, usually in a negative way. Alastor Moody certainly fits that description. The word also has an alternate meaning of 'counterfeit' or 'false'
RP Sample:
The darkened room was quiet, except for the soft humming of the Secrecy Sensor, its golden squiggly prongs, vibrating slightly as it sat to the side on the old mahogany desk. Moody let his foot slide off the desk and it landed on the floor with a soft thud as he leaned back in the leather back chair, reaching for the flask that hung off the belt around his waist. Unfastening the lid, he quickly drank down some of the contents as he tilted his head back, his long mane of grizzled grey hair spilling out behind the chair.
Giving his head a quick shake, he smacked his lips together with a content lop-sided smile on his heavily scarred face. He looked towards the Foe-Glass that hung on the wall near the door with his good eye as his larger magical eye swivelled around in his head.
With a sigh he slipped his wooden leg over his stump, and slowly stood, fastening his flask to his belt again. "Damn meetings." He growled to himself, stumping across the floor to the door. The meetings were not the same now that Albus had died. Albus had been a good friend of Moody's. One of few that Moody tolerated completely. But there was no time for mourning now. Moody had already done that. There were things to be done - things that needed doing - now that Albus was dead.
The Order needed to continue, if anything for the reason Albus had believed in. The old wizard was the one who had started it, and Moody did not want to see it collapse now that the very backbone had been removed from it. No, the Order Members would just have to pull together to restrengthen it. They knew what they would be up against. They knew what they had to fight. They needed preparing. But most of all, they needed to practice constant, never-ceasing vigilance.
Checking the Foe-Glass one more time as he stopped at the door, his magical eye spun around. Seeming satisfied; but knowing that even his Dark Detectors were not fail-proof, therefore he needed to keep constantly aware of the fact that a Dark Wizard could suddenly appear out of nowhere. He shuddered slightly at that, and opened the door to step out into the night air on a small journey that would not only play a part in his future; but the future of the Wizarding World.
